Tex-Mex Turkey Taco Lettuce Cups

These easy lettuce wraps are a lighter version of traditional-style tacos.


  • 1 package (500 g)
  • 1 tbsp (15 mL)
    vegetable oil
  • 1 tsp (5 mL)
    Tex-Mex seasoning
  • 1
    onion, chopped
  • 1
    clove garlic, minced
  • 3/4 cup (175 mL)
    prepared taco sauce
  • 16
    Boston lettuce leaves, washed and dried
  • 1
    avocado, peeled, pitted and chopped
  • 1 cup (250 mL)
    queso fresco, crumbled
  • 1/2 cup (125 mL)
    radish, thinly sliced
  • 1/2 cup (125 mL)
    green onion, sliced
  • 1/4 cup (60 mL)
    fresh cilantro, chopped
  1. Heat oil in large skillet set over medium-high heat; cook Lilydale® Ground Turkey, breaking up with a spoon, for about 5 minutes or until no longer pink and starting to brown.
  2. Sprinkle Tex-Mex seasoning over cooked Lilydale® Ground Turkey. Reduce heat to medium; add onion and garlic. Cook for 5 to 7 minutes or until softened. Stir in taco sauce; simmer for about 10 minutes or until sauce is thickened slightly.
  3. To serve, spoon Lilydale® Ground Turkey mixture onto lettuce leaves; top with avocado, queso fresco, radish, green onion and cilantro.

For a salad version, serve cooked Lilydale® Ground Turkey and toppings on a bed of chopped lettuce.
