Turkey Chili


  • 1 package (500 g)
  • 2
    cloves of garlic
  • 1
    onion, chopped
  • 2
    carrots, diced
  • 1
    celery stalk, chopped
  • 10 (2 cups)
    mushrooms, sliced
  • 1 tbsp (25 ml)
    Chili powder
  • 1 tsp (5 ml)
    Oregano
  • 1 tsp (5 ml)
    Cumin
  • 1/2 tsp (2 ml)
    Paprika
  • 1/4 tsp (1 ml)
    salt
  • Dash
    each of black pepper, Tabasco sauce
  • 19 oz (540 ml)
    canned diced tomatoes, undrained
  • 19 oz (540 ml)
    canned kidney beans, drained
  1. In a large saucepan, heat oil over medium heat, brown garlic and Lilydale® Ground Turkey for 5 minutes or until turkey is firm.
  2. Add vegetables and cook for an additional 5 minutes. Reduce heat to low and stir in seasonings. Cook, stirring for another 5 minutes. Stir in tomatoes and beans; bring to a boil, breaking tomatoes. Cover and simmer for 15 minutes.
  3. Uncover and simmer for an additional 15 minutes. Serve with rice, tacos, tortillas and buns. Garnish with sour cream, cheese, and avocado.
